when u still love him then go back to him.but u both should talk about the things that happened in your relationship before, bout everything...u should really try it,when your relationship was that serious that u planned on getting married and stuff like that, then i think something was just badly wrong before, but u can make it work together when u both are just hounest to each other.just tell him everything that did bother u and does bother u now, things that did hurt u.
love can change a person.i would give him a chance!!
good luck

He recently contacted you but now he won't answer the phone?
I think in a weak, lonely moment he contacted to you to see if you were still "available" if things got really bad for him.
And when you showed him you were still interested, he got scared off and went back to being lonely--or it propelled him to go for someone else.
Wouldn't you do that if your love life was dried up and you knew an ex was still "doable."
It's not just men who are s*&^t; women use people to prop up their egos, too.
Here is my recommendation: Proceed with your life. Do not lose any sleep over this guy. Date others, but don't get involved. Spend time doing OTHER things yo love to do. Do not call him-do not leave messages.
He knows where you are. YOU want him to COME To you? You want to KNOW that he misses YOU and not just sex on a regular basis? Then LEAVE him alone and make him come TO YOU!
Give him the "take it or leave it" routine.
If he wants to be with you, there is not a force on earth that will be good enough to keep him from getting to you.
You want that kind of love in your life? Then don't settle for just ok.
Tell him--when HE calls you- "I don't know what you can do to make me trust you again...but you are welcome to try."
BE very cautious, be hard to convince, but not a nag.
Now, if he was abusive, cheated on you, has addiction problems or is generally not nice to be around, disregard everything I just wrote, and forget him, and move on.
Just because you "love" someone, you don't have to live with them or have relationships with them. You can love and learn. Or you can go through the same lesson over and over-until you learn it.
How hard-headed are you?

He's an ex for a reason. Why did you break up? For the most part, people don't really change that much. Live your life and have a good time, if you meet Mr. Right you'll know it pretty fast because you'll hardly ever fight. Yes, you'll disagree on things but you won't feel inclined to fight about it.

sounds as if he is lonley. or he was lonley.
something we do (guys) is we end a relationship and then it's dry like the desert. No one around to talk to or have sex with or just know is there for you. So you go to the bar and get drunk and think about what you had and you realize it wasn't that bad. so you call, maybe not at 3am (i have more sense than to do that) but I call and hope you haven't started dating yet and when you say you haven't I talk about the possability of us getting together again.
and then you know what happens? this hottie walks into my life and I don't have the gonads to call you to tell you what happened. partly that and partly I'm thinking that if this doesn't work out (with the hottie) I still have you.
pathetic ain't it. but I've known women who do the exact same thing.
good luck. any questions? im me

Give it a little more time & feel things out. Since you didn't mention it.. Ask yourself why the relation didn't last the first time. Has any of those things changed that caused the break up? Use that info for basing your new judgement.

make him come to you, don't keep calling and chasing him. if he wants you bad enough he'll do whatever he has to do to get you back. but make him prove that he's really serious about being with you.
