Dogs shed. Birds moult.
Dogs shed when the weather changes, or when they live indoors.
Temperature changes and various seasons cause shedding, however it can be controlled with a constant setting of degree indoors.
Dogs will shed, anyway, once a year.
Use a shedding tool to remove excess hair and have the dog groomed. Bathe the dog bi-weekly to remove excess hair.
Vacuum every other day, at least, and the hair will be less toxic to health.
Good luck. :o)

Well, it's Fall here in the USA. And in the North East, the cooler weather is coming. So my dog's old hair is shedding to make room for his new, heavier Winter coat. Makes perfect sense to me; happens every year at this time.

To Begin with, none of my dogs have feathers, so they never have moulted.
It's that time of year here and all my dogs are shedding their summer coats getting ready for winter.

Does your dog have an undercoat that simply needs to be raked?
