Were to commit murder, and was sentenced to die, how would this affect your stance on the Death Penalty?

Meaning, if you are for it now, would you suddenly change your opinion, or would you hold firm in your belief?

Good question, i don't know the answer, i go back and forth now with the death penalty; i used to be strongly in favor of it. however, i would hope that if god forbid i had a child who was a sociopath, (a jeff dahmer or ted bundy, the ultimate predator with no hope at all for rehabilitation) that my child would never be allowed out of a cell into to society, it would break my heart i could only imagine, how i would feel about my child being put to death, i cannot tell you. and anyone who claims different, i would question, how could one know unless the situation arrises? it would be speculation at this point. it would also depend on the reason they committed murder (self defense, second degree/manslaughter is different than murder one). i would think i wouldnever stop loving my own child.

Why do liberals love to save criminals and kill the innocent? At least be pro-choice and pro-death penalty or pro-life and against the death penalty. The need to be so obviously for the evil and against the good is absolutely amazing! The next thing liberals will come up with is forced euthanasia for anyone over 60 because they feel the earth is too over-populated but they will STILL be saving criminals!

Plus do you honestly think that the death penalty is more cruel than life imprisonment? If it were me, I would prefer death for me or my child. Imagine a life time of being in a 8' by 6' cell most of your day, never getting the freedoms that most people enjoy, and worst of all... for many people, getting raped regulary which brings up another question. Why do liberals allow prison rapes to go on? In fact, they promote and encourage it! Why have they not stopped prison rapes?

The death penalty is wrong. I dont think that you should kill someone even if they did commit murder. And i would stick to that. Just give him a life scentence so that he or she will suffer more. They think they are gonna get the death pentalty in the first place.. Why not make them suffer?

I am opposed to it, but use to support the idea of capital punishment. If my child committed murder enough to warrant execution as a penalty, it would not have changed my opinion.

This is a very hard question..... I don't believe in the death penalty but I would want my child to suffer the consequence. He did take another life but who are we to take another life. That would make us the same a murder!!!

I would be deeply hurt but I believe that people should be held accountable for their actions. I would hope that I will be able to raise my children with a good moral center and to know that murder is wrong and that there are consequences to every action be it bad or good. I can love my child and not love what actions they take in life.

Yes, I would feel the same way. But I would be more supportive of leathal injection, as opposed to my earlier answer involving a painful death. But I cannot imagine my son killing anyone. He is a very kind and peaceful person.

I have always been against the death penalty. I don't think that would cause me to switch and be in favor of it. But I guess one never knows.

Spooky, I hope your child is happy and healthy if you have one. It is hard to understand how anyone could put higher value than children on anything. Imagining the death of any child, especially your own, is simply horrifying, don't you think?

Bless you and any kids you love, friend.
