Hi! I live in a town, in a house with a garden. I have to move to a capital city soon, in a flat. I'm thinking of bringing my 2 month old kitten with me. I'm worried because I'm not sure if she would get used to the new way of life. Here, at home, my cats spend most of their time outside.
I know the basic things about living with a cat in a flat (it rhymes :-)), like sand box and stuff, but could you give me some other advice on what should I pay attention to?
Thanks.

Be sure to get her plenty of toys. My cat is completely spoiled because I feel bad about leaving him alone all day by himself. I can tell you his favorite toy is a pink boa that Barbie makes. Strangely enough Barbie has a decent line of cat toys. Also get her some bouncy balls. If you're lucky, she'll be able to play fetch which should give her some great exercise. Be sure you take the time to play with her every night. My baby and I have a date every night for 15 minutes of constructive play although he usually gets me guilted into more.

If she is used to going out she will try to get out every time you open the door and every time someone else opens the door. So that's the thing you really need to watch.

My 6 month old kitten does not go out yet, not for lack of trying. The 2 adults go out and Pepper sits by the door just like they do trying to trick me to open it. But at 2 months it's likely she will get used to being inside. You really should think about getting another kitten so she will not be lonely all day alone inside. Then the 2 of them could demolish your stuff together while you are at work.

Sand box - I have one that has a cover so it's like going in a little cave. It prevents most of the sand from being scattered all over the place. Also get good litter so there is little odor and clean it EVERY DAY. I get the clumping litter so all I have to do is use a slotted spoon to remove the clumps.

2 months old... she will get used very quickly to her new lifestyle!
Apart from other answers about sctrach post, beware-of-door, cats's grass - think she might be bored -especially if she is used to other cats. Make small balls (size of smal meatball -out of news paper and let her play by herself.

She will need a scratching post if she is to stay inside and grow her some grass in a pot. Cats need this now and then for their health.
