Atheism is lack of theism or lack of god belief. That's all there is to it.

"What do i think about it?"
I think it is the only logical outcome when having studied religions and realized none of them are based if fact. They are all about faith, and if faith makes something true then that means all religions are true.

"Faith is a cop-out. It is intellectual bankruptcy. If the only way you can accept an assertion is by faith, then you are conceding that it can't be taken on its own merits." - Dan Barker (former preacher)

"Why atheism?"
Simple for me.. No evidence = No belief.

You don't believe in thousands of gods that people have thought up of over the years. Atheists just believe in one less god than you do. Once you realize why you don't believe in all other gods, then you will realize why we don't believe in yours.

Religion, to me, is an exercise of power over the simple minded and the gullible. I also dislike most religions' inherent anti-women stance. And finally, I feel that, while I accept that we all have to believe in 'something', to appeal to a higher power for help or assistance in war, for example, or to blame the same for ills or misfortune, is immoral and corrupt. I prefer to respect nature and other human beings, rather than give thanks to my existence to some mythical being.

And don't even get me started on how the church misuses its wealth, when children are dying of hunger and lack of clean water.

Atheist's are the only ones who won't be disappointed when they die.
Atheists look at ALL the available information, and arrive at a conclusion.

Religious people only look at the religious information available and arrive at the conclusion the information was designed to create. Why are religious people terrified of questioning their beliefs. As an atheist, who has done considerable research over the years, I believe it's because deep down every religious person KNOWS their religious beliefs are wrong, but are too afraid to admit it even to themselves.

Since there is no proof to believe there is a god, atheism seems to me more reasonable than theism.

You think that you (as a human) are something special and honored when all you are is just another living being on this planet. After you die, most religious people think that there is a higher (or lower) level in the "afterlife" or whatever equivalent. I think they are too afraid to think that after you die, that's all there is... nothingness.. just worm food or dust in the sea.

Atheists are not afraid to think that this is the only chance you get and so enjoy your life because you wont get another chance.

Any rational and objective analysis of human history confirms that the evidence God is a man-made invention is overwhelming.

I'm kind of agnostic about it. God is all subjective anyway, my faith is different from yours and so on. God is in the heart, not the head. Religion is just a way to make money out of our fear of death.

There is no verifiable evidence for the existence of God. There are people who are of the opinion that evidence is required.

Why would I?

So I could have a good reason to kill someone of a different faith.
So I can pray for someone Else's soul
So I can act holier than thou.
