The safest course if to get him assassinated, have him stuffed by a competent taxidermist, then have a ventriloquist drill a strategically placed hole so you can manipulate his movements (assuming, of course, you are unable to locate such a hole yourself).

But if you're not Catholic, just try reasoning with his followers.

That's hard to call on. I would think that those followers who are dependant on the leader would convert. Those who really do believe in the religion would probably stick to their guns.

I do not think so but it depends on the leader and how strong his hold is on the followers if the pope became muslim I doubt any would follow him

That would depend on how much influence he has on his followers and how large this religious group . For someone like Moon, you'll have lots of followers.
