Is it possible to become a muslim just by proclaiming that Allah is the only God and Mohammed is its prophet? Don't I have to attend a mosque or talk to somebody?

u definitely have to talk to somebody cuz Islam is not only about Allah and prophet Mohammed (pbuh)...there are things such as the pilgrimage, praying, fasting in Ramadan, these are the main things...

you say those two statements with pure heart and honestly.
"ashhado annaho la ilaha illa allah" = i witness and believe there is no God but Allah.
"ashahado anna Muhammadon rasolo allah" = i witness and believe that Muhammad is the prophet of God.
