SOME ways? Islamics and christians creep me out, they both want to burn pagans at the stake and they both have a zero tolerance to non believers. Both treat women like second class citezens and both dont recognize other sects, just thiers.

Yes there is many common traits with both (good traits and bad traits). Christan's are taught to recognize that Muslims believe in the same creator. In the recent past (100 years) we've co-existed sharing the common values focusing on the similarities rather than differences. http://www.scborromeo.org/index2.htm

However as you mentioned; the popular trend for Islam in today's culture is a "No- Tolerance" attitude within the culture. This has been germinating for around 40 years. This time has allowed them to cultivate their culture to accept a "No- Tolerance" policy.

Notice how "Freedom of Speech", "Freedom of the Press", and "Freedom of Religion" is violated within this culture? A year ago, a Danish cartoonist exercise their freedom of speech and press and now there's death threats on all involved. When a person changes religion from Islam to another religion (Christian, Taoist, Hindu, Etc-Etc-Etc) they get marked for death at the hands of a former Muslim.

While many of the Islamic teachings are good and should be followed, as mentioned by the Pope historically when the Islam religion pulls together in the Jihad mode, it is a force that moves without looking back. Christianity too has done this historcially, however, current events should lead you to look at this cultures past behaviors to predict future behaviors (Ah, like with mutual funds, past performance does not always indicate future results ... but it's darn close).

Like Judaism and Christianity, Islam is classified as an Abrahamic religion. Therefore all three are related and similar.

Like the Israeli ( Jewish) people hate Palestinians, similarly Christians hate Muslims and vice versa.

All religions hate other religions.

The tenets of Buddhism does not make it a Religion as such but the followers of Buddhism want to think of themselves as followers of a different religion. They don't want to think that Gautama Buddha was not a God per se but a prophet like Muhammad and Jesus Christ.

In order to emphasize and strengthen their own religions, people discriminate against the followers of other religions. This discrimination in turn creates hatred which eventually develops into hate and violence.

After reading the Qu'ran and the bible it is very easy to see which one is the religion of love and compassion, of forgiveness and grace, of mercy and salvation.

Yes, islam fundamentally can be a peaceful religion, but it seems only for muslims.

Almost every religion in the world claims their's is the only way, to heaven, peace, salvation, happiness, etc etc

but islam has the mandate to conquer and convert the rest of the world.

If you do not convert, your choice is either be subjugated to (supreme) islamic rule or the sword.

Personally I feel very strongly that the majority of muslims have no bad intentions whatsoever and want peace and prosperity and happiness like anybody else.

Unfortunately it seems that Islam is being hijacked by terrorists, conmen, sectarians, politicians, arms dealers etc. and that it is more about power and influence and making money than about religion.

Those people need to be hunted down and justice needs to be served in order to protect all free societies and peace loving people.

ALso I am still waiting for a clear statement from a respected and authorised islamic body condemning violence in the name of islam and promoting peace and tolerance.

As long as thats not forthcoming I have to go with what the pope cited in his speech and conclude that islam is a violent conquering religion.

Please don't forget, there is only one God, who gave the life of his son to save us all from sin and to offer us forgiveness and grace for life eternal, recognising our human weaknesses and loving us despite.

And in his book he says very clearly that he is the only God and salvation is only through his son.

So for any real christian out there the fact is, that islam is not the right religion and allah cannot save you.

God loves you

They are very similar one key points( worship god, love god, god loves every person regardless religion, treat each other with respect, love each other hlep each other, there is only one god, fast pray and live a good life.) but disagree on the divinity of christ and the road to salvation and more "prophets". But the only difference is when christianity first came into existances it was peaceful then during the middle ages they became intolerant and creul then became peaceful again. Muslims came in I guess peaceful and then became violent and cruel(not saying all but a large number, similar to the crusades not all were intolerant but a large number was). Muslims have more passion so it drives for more extremes.

Absolutely. In both cases it is a twisting of the religion that results in violence. This doesn't mean that the religions themselves aren't at fault, since it was pretty much inevitable that they would be twisted. It's pointless to blame Islam for the violence created by terrorism, the blame rests on religion as a whole.

It doesn't matter if they are alike are different. There's only one truth. There's only one truth for Christians and the same truth for Islamic people. Its up to us to make the decision if we believe the Word of God or not. Just like here in the USA we have different denominations. There are some that translate the Word of God differently. Truly there's only one truth. God Bless

They are both very alike. Just don't go telling Christians, who only listen to the media about Islam, that--they'll get up in arms. They'll say intelligent things like, "Allah is a pagan moon god!" or "You don't see CHRISTIANS doing violent things!" Both are hilariously false statements that are perpetuated by the enemy of Islam--the Jewish-owned media.
