No.

A common misconception is that Jehovah's Witnesses go from door-to-door because they feel it is their duty to get a householder to "change his mind". In fact, Jehovah's Witnesses would go from door-to-door even if there were no hope that anyone would change their religion, or even if no one would listen to them!

That is because Jesus Christ specifically assigned the house-to-house ministry to the Christian congregation, with no regard for specific results.

(Luke 10:1,2) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos in advance of him into every city and place to which he himself was going to come. 2 Then he began to say to them: “The harvest, indeed, is great, but the workers are few. Therefore beg the Master of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.

Jehovah's Witnesses are trained to direct attention to the bible, and move on when their message is unwanted. Since each congregation in the United States tries to call at every home in its territory at least twice each year, there is strong motivation for them to move on where little interest is shown. Also, the Scriptures help the Witnesses to expect little interest from most:

(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching ...and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.

Not annoying, but not very open minded either. We had a lady come on to our porch a few months back. She asked if we would like to hear some scripture she believed in. We said that we were into the Bible. That threw her for a loop. She then asked if we would take some of her literature. We said we would as long as she took some of ours. Our church was having an event that was open to the public. That really through her off. She didn't know what to say. We felt bad for her. She eventually took it, but made it clear that she thought it was unnecessary. We weren't trying to mess with her, we really felt that if we were willing to hear her out, she should have been ready to hear us out too. It was our porch and all.

Jesus preached about his Father, we do the same. john 17:3

we were given a commition to preach. matthew 28:19

we do not take blood, or give blood because of, acts 15:20

we do not celebrate christmas or birthdays because Jesus didn't, and as imitators of him, we do not either.

we don't believe in hell, because the hebrew word sheol, and the greek word hades, both refer to the grave. not a place of firey torment. also see ecclesiastes 9:5.

we use Jehovah's name because it is always in the original manuscripts, and in the Lords prayer, it says regarding God, let your name be sanctified. as many will point out, it is probably not the same pronunciation of his name, but would you rather be called by a close pronunciation, or just called man or woman all the time?

we don't vote or go to war because john 17:15,16.

we don't believe Jesus died on a cross because the greek word used is stauros, which means a pole, stake or tree, not two peices of wood crossed.

we don't tolerate homosexuals in our organisation because of leviticus 18:22

anything else you might find annoying, either e-mail me, visit www.watchtower.org, or simply ask us when we call at you door.

Since the question is do I think Jehovah's Witnesses are annoying? I have to answer No.

I talk to them every day. They are some of the nicest people I know.

They don't cuss or swear. Their jokes are clean and enjoyable.

I don't have to worry about leaving anything unlocked.

Every month I have someone tell me how much they appreciate my coming by and encouraging them to read their bibles, and to keep up the good work.

You try being brought up as one! No Birthdays, No Chrissy presents, not allowed to make friends at school, listen to pop music, read anything remotely scientific or worldly, dragged to five meetings a week, forced to go door to door flogging dodgy American evangelical magazines, having everything from the length of your hair to the cut of your trousers examined and critiqued - and being expected to believe that everything in Genesis is the literal truth, that giving blood condemns you for ever, that women are chattle and Jesus is coming very soon to kill everyone in the world who didn't buy a Watchtower......Arrrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Thank goodness I got out and became the nice, sane, well balanced person I am today!

No. I've only had them at my door once, I gave them the time of the day, they seemed like nice people. I even read the leaflet they gave me. They were not annoying at all. They didn't come back so maybe I annoyed them.

My mother has let them in before now, she sat them down and made them a drink then she told them she was a devil worshipper. They went out quicker than they came in and have never been back because mom said she could summon the devil for them to meet him.

They can appear to be such.
Then again, they thought Jesus was so annoying ....they killed him.
In fact, most spokesmen of the God of the Bible were harrassed because they were deemed annoying.
If one rejects witnesses, make it a better reason than the fact they knock at your door.

Yes they are, why don't they go and annoy the radical Muslims then both groups can piss each other off and leave everyone else alone.
