The alcohol and cotton lobbies got together and pressured the government into outlawing cannabis, as it was seen as a threat to both of their industries. They funded the creation of the infamous movie "Reefer Madness," which is a propaganda film that states "facts" about marijuana.

While I've never tried it nor do I think I ever will. I believe that it should be legal. That way we can make sure what is being used is pure, not this laced stuff that they are finding, which happens to be the majority from what I understand.
I believe it never will be because the government makes too much money from it. (Seized property etc...) Also, it is very hard to regulate. Alcohol goes away within a certain amount of time, within hours, marajuana stays around for quite a bit longer. It's a liability issue as well I believe.

based on child's story of creation, supposedly now the earth is evil, man is to rule women, animals and plants, an anything NATURal is 'evil'
but take natural ingredients and make drugs, pills? legal because you can make a profit

Gods, no matter of which faith don't have very much power any longer. So, secular governments can pretty much do as they please. Unlike the followers of these Gods that pick and choose which divine commands they will obey and which ones they will ignore. For a fact we know governments are real.

God made hallucinogenic mushrooms and spider and snake venom too. Why are those bad? Let's eat magical mushrooms and drink snake venom. Let's see maybe, marijuana is banned because it's bad for you- it impairs your judgement and fries your brains. There's enough stupid people running around without allowing pot to be legal.

It was banned because no business can control it's distribution, the drug companies can't make any money on it and the government can't collect any tax revenues for it.
