It kind of proves a point though............as the only response from Muslims seems to always be violence, are they not able to reason and debate ideas, why are they only capable of shooting a nun, burning churches and threatening murder all of the time......I thought religion was about peace, love and understanding....where is that in a Muslim world ?

Not to long ago on YA was the question of why the Pope did nothing during WWII and not speaking up against the War. Now that the Pope has spoke up against terrorism and a violent part of the world today, people are criticizing what he has said. Is it just me or are people not satisified when someone tells the truth about something or someone, and just want an argument?

Yes it was a quote - but it was not an appropriate comment. If I went around spouting some of the c**p the Hitler said, do you think the Jews (or any sane person)would say "oh, it's ok it's only a quote!" I think not. If you are quoting something, it means you believe in what that person said. Who needs a Pope anyway!!!!Enough said!

The person who wrote it died more 7 centuries ago. I've never seen a skeleton apologize anything, but well...

His Highness the poope Ben #16 should apologize of course - with a REAL apologize, not like what he said: "I am very sad that they didn't understand what I said."

i.e. "I am sorry that you are so stupid."

Well, maybe he'll eventually apologize - who knows?

Anyway, if I were the poope in Person, I would stay hidden in vatican-palace for a long time.

His so-called first "apologize" shows how much ben16 is a hypocrite.

The Pope should not appologise. It was a valid part of his speach. People would realise that if they listened to the whole thing rather than just hear that one line and jump straight into religious revenge mode.

However I personnally do not like the Pope as he is the figure of something that I do not beleive in.

How stupid is the Pope....that should be your question..... what a thing to say, even if he was quoting someone else. Surely he should have been more sensitive to the the world situation regarding Islam and its teaching.

The media, for debliberate misquoting and inciting what can become a holy war. If the media had posted the whole speech or in context, then most of this could have been avoided.
