try this recipe its lovely

1 lb boneless lean beef, thinly sliced into strips
3 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, crushed or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/3 cup water or wine
1 teaspoon low-sodium beef bouillon granules
1 cup plain low-fat yogurt



Shake beef strips in mixture of flour and paprika.
In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat oil.
Over high heat, brown beef, onion, garlic, pepper and mushrooms.
Stir in water or wine, beef bouillon and yogurt.
Bring to a boil stirring constantly.
Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 12 to 15 minutes.
Serve over rice or noodles.

I assume you added red wine and/or port?
If so, you could try adding some of the following, depending on what you're looking for. (Some will work in combination, others wont!)

1) A little bit of Wasabi
2) A bigger bit of Horseradish
3) Guinness
4) Dark Chocolate (not a whole bar, though, just a smidge)
5) Spalsh of dry cider (not that awful white cider tramp's delight)
6) Worcestershire Sauce (as per previous respondent - must be L&P)

Hi lilly
to add alittle kick to beef stroganoff all you have to do
is add a dash of worcestershire sauce or soya sauce

Cook it with a strong red wine or even port - delicious! I have also seen some recipes using cider but haven't tried them so can't say if they are good.
Adding sour cream or creme fraiche is also good!

White wine, creme fraiche and lots of black pepper. You can add mushrooms if you like.
