I love this question I was just talking about this with my wife. If you had to eat the same thing your entire life would you like it? Or would you try to find something different. Wow I would eat the cats food and the parakeet as well and any other craps of meat that I was given. Great Question good job best wishes.

Because cats are more selective eaters the manufacturers have to make the cat food tastier. It also has more protien. So dogs like cat food better. And no it doesn't hurt them. I've raised 2 dogs and a few cats on nothing but cat food.

I wouldn't say it is good for a dog to eat cat food or it would be dog food right? I would say he probably likes the taste. I am pretty sure cats are finicky eaters and have more flavor in their food. I got my dog the gravy for her dry dog food and she loves it. also keep your cat food too high for the dog to reach it. Cats can climb as dogs can't. that will at least keep your dog out the food.

Yes, cat food is made for cats and it contains specific levels of ingredients tailored to their needs. Cats need less fat and omega oils than dogs to maintain a healthy life. Cat food can also give dogs major digestive problems, causing you to have a major clean-up on your hands. Keep the dog out of the cat food, and it will do both of you a favor.
P.S.- some dogs enjoy the seafood flavor of most cat foods. Add pure salmon oil to your dogs food to improve the flavor and it will also make your dog's coat radiant.

According to my veterinarian, dogs have different nutritional needs than cats do and it's not a good idea for dogs to eat cat food. I would call your veterinarian and see what their opinion is on the subject.

there are different ingredients in cat and dog food.

my vet told me not to let my dog eat nothing but cat food because over times it will cause health problems.
its like candy to dogs. dogs require different things in there symptoms just like cats do.

if you feed a cat nothing but dog food from the time it starts eating solid food it will go blind and have neurological problems.

I do not know what the symptoms are for a dog who eats all cat food.

hope that answers your question

You won't believe how careful they are at the cat food factory, cats are really picky about food, quite the opposite to dogs.

It doesn't hurt them at all.

Maybe that's why.
