If I were in your position, I would probably let the police know.

They may not be able to do much without your mom's cooperation, except they do have you as a witness.

It may be possible for you to secure a restraining order if you live with your mom as you need protection also.

I would fill out a report every time it happened, so there is a paper trail in case it ever goes to court or in case this individual harms other people. If I witnessed the incident, I would describe it. If on later occasions, I only saw bodily damage but not the actual fight, I would try to report that as well.

If you catch him in the act, call the cops immediately, then look around for some-thing,say a hammer & batter him with it,when the cops arrive just say you were protecting your mum. With a bit of luck, his brains will be decorating the walls.I have a special hatred for 'men' who beat women,i was brought up in a similar situation.I'm sorry you & your mum live with that.

Why is your mom putting up with it?
Yes, it should be reported to the police, however, your mom will need to be willing to cooperate.

If it ever happens again, forget about calling your nan... just call 911. You should try to get to a neighbor's house first if that's feasible.

tell the police.....if this happens again, dont hesitate to pick up the phone and call them...or get a male member of your family, like an uncle to come over and sort this pig out, they will deal with it, you do not want to walk in on something like that again...talk to your mum and tell her how much this hurts you to see her being beaten by someone who is not even blood related to you...this guy needs a piece of his own medicine....he's just a coward...but if you encounter this again, tell the cops...and have him arrested

I would suggest talking to your mom about it. I don't think you going to the police is going to do much good. I'm pretty sure that your mom would have to be the one to press charges on him. Telling the police about the situation may help because they will be aware of the abuse and possibly try to help, but I would try talking to your mom. She will be the most influential in getting him put into jail.

first i would talk to you're mom and make her understand that she can not play with here life cause this is playing with here life.
i would try to make here understand that this is wrong what he is doing and that she deserves much better.
If she is scared to do something than go to the police than the first step is made than its easy-er for here to do something.
than she can choose what she does.
if you go to the police without you're mother's agreement than the change is big that the mother and daughter relationship is ruined and the police will do nothing cause he didn't do anything to you.

Tell the police, no matter how long ago it was they can still do something about it. Don't let him get away with it.

When it happens again just go call the police. It won't be long before he tries that stuff on you and you might be saving her life although she won't see it that way because battered women seldom do.

If this happens again, run to a neighbor's house as quickly as you can - tell the neighbor what is happening and ask him/her to call the police.
