Yeah I donate blood, I started like 18 months ago. My mom used to give blood, but then she got sick so now I'm taking over, I would like to register with the Bone Marrow Registry...but I don't know how that works here in Belgium, I should ask, I've been thinking about it for a while now. But yeah, giving blood, I'm in, I mean why not? People need it and we have plenty right? Well at least enough to donate once in a while.
More people should do it, it doesn't take much time, doesn't hurt or anything and you help people :)

Because I have had both parents need transfusions, I have given blood to "replace" that which was used. I am a bone marrow donor, as well. By the way, put the Bone Marrow Registry card in your wallet, God forbid you have an accident - it's not considered "organ donation", but could help save a life.

BRAVO FOR YOU!! That is totally awesome!!!!

I have donated blood for years. I have stopped for the last 2 years because I have been pregnant back to back. I am going to get back into it. Also, I signed up for the bone marrow registry as well. It is such a wonderful way to help save a life. Good for you. You should feel proud and happy!

Absolutely! Blood donation is so easy and really is painless, and it can help so many people. I dont know why more people don't donate blood on a regular basis. Also, did you know that you can donate platelets and plasma (the liquid) and get paid for doing it? Contact the red cross or donation center near you and ask. It's a great thing to do and it is very easy.

I do. Your body will replace the blood taken out of you in a matter of hours and if you're saving a life in the process whats the harm in it? I was told that I had a rare blood type, but I cant for the life of me remember what it was. When the doctor told me that I felt I had to help others.

I wish I could. I am anemic so I can't. I am growing my hair out so I can donate for Locks of Love. That is a great thing to do, also.
