I have 2 sister-in-laws doing Weight Watchers. They are having great success. My wife and I just started Jenny Craig. So far, we are able to stick with the plan and find the food tasty enough.
I'd say it depends on what style of program you want. Do you want more of a support group environment, where they give you a plan and you figure out how you will implement it, along with weekly support meetings? Then Weight Watchers would be your bag.
Would you rather have a plan where the entres already made for you, so you just pop them in a microwave and then supplement it with fruits, veggies and dairy as instructed? Then Jenny Craig would probably be more your style. Right now, Jenny Craig has a lose 20 lbs for $20 plan, plus the cost of food, which runs around $100 to $115 per week.
Can't tell you anything about Curves.

Curves has a great exercise program but doesn't have meal plans, although they advise you about how to eat.
Jenny Craig gives you personal one on one support and meals but is expensive.
Weight Watchers gives you great group support, meals, and is easy on your pocket.
I've seen people successful with all three programs, but if I had the money I would do Jenny Craig. After losing the weight, I'd join Curves. Then, if I felt I was slipping, I'd do weight watchers.

I would say the best way to lose weight is to eat healthy and excercise. So maybe do Jenny Craig and Curves at the same time. Or, do the Curves, but eat healthy at home.

To lose weight, a person has to reduce the calorie intake by some amount by modifying their diet. A diet without sufficient nutrients will only increase the appetite of the person trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan, additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles required to increase the metabolic rate required for long term weight loss. My wife and I each lost 60 lbs on weight watchers. Their programs are designed to help you lose weight and learn better habits to keep the weight off. They have a website you can check out to get a more detailed explanation.
