There are techniques called hot and cold reading, and use of Barnum statements that can be very effective in convincing people that they are being given unique information they do not realise has been disclosed. I can do it myself, although I'm not an expert. See are really good stage magician do it and it is amazing.

Well then. You are probably still a skeptic. If he was specific that is the main thing, if you are skilled at NLP or whatever psychological discapline, you can from body language pick up things, and say things that could apply to you, but it is usually a vague sterotypical statement, such as, 'You are having problems in your life now and feel there is nobody to talk to' but if he said something like 'under the stairs, under the floorboard on the right hand side are the details you need for that offshore bank account'. If you were the only one who knew about the account, chances are the medium is not guessing. Hope this helps.
