Getting off the bus slowly first and holding every one up. Not getting the pass ready BEFORE the bus arrives, not getting the money ready before getting to the checkout, walking V E R Y S L O W LY in the middle of the pavement. I am in my 60's and don't do these things why can't the rest of my generation do the same.

this is the first time i see someone who thinks wisely, i also wondered why, and some years ago i did a scientific research into ageing it was quite good. basically it appears as people get old everything in their body gets old too (if not stopped). so i think you r doing really great, also you r the first 60 years old man who i see can use the computer!!!!

Do they really get in your way? Perhaps a shift in perception is in order. Would you want someone to think this way about you? Or perhaps would you rather they say that you are a crabby old man?
Hey, I help old ladies on the bus, or crossing the street. I'd even help an old man. Someday that could be me!
If you get off the bus slowly, you prevent a fall. If you fall off the bus, that holds everyone up, as there will have to be an ambulance, an incident report, etc., before the bus can even leave.
You have your money ready before you get to the checkout, it gives some young whippersnapper more of an opportunity to take advantage of you...and it's not as if you can run after the thief.
Someday when I am older than I just became today, I hope someone will be patient to me in turn.

You ignorant git! You are fortunate to have reached 60 and still be agile. Maybe one day you will be older and your joints will ache, your body will slow down. I wonder how fast you will move? Why should it matter if they hold the bus up for a few extra seconds? Whats the bloody hurry? GET AN EARLIER BUS IF YOU ARE THAT BOTHERED!!!! Why should they get their passes ready at the bus stop when they might need both hands free to climb on board and don't want to risk being mugged by opening their bags?

They are there to slow you down. There is more to life than making it go faster. You must be an exceptional 60 some year old. My mom and Dad are the same way. Dad still surfs and works out. I think that is how you stay so vibrant. I know some people in retirement who actually went back to work because they did not want to stay at home and get old. Try to be patient and remember everyone does not have the same frame of mind as you.

The older a person gets, the slower their reactions become. Whilst every human being cannot be the same as the other, I wouldn't expect you to be as slow or as fast as some of those in your generation. Being in your sixties does not make you that old anyway. If you live another 30 years or more, which I hope you will, I don't think your reactions will be as fast;and you might end up being guilty of the things you talk about. I think we should all live and let live, and respect our elders for the contribution most of them have made to our society and our existence.

Where's the damn fire? If you're in such a hurry, maybe you should leave earlier so you won't be late?

I'm 30, but I understand that (most) older people are slow--they're walking around in these 60, 70, 80 year old bodies. That would be like driving a Honda civic with 250,000 miles on it. Does it still run? Of course. Does it run well? Nope.

Be respectful of these people.

How sad u r............You say u r in your 60's and u don't do these things that seem to irritate u about others in your age group. Have u ever heard of the phrase "a not yet?".....It means we have to be careful of those we judge because we never know when our day may come. In other words, be grateful that you are alert, and sharp as u are. Do you think these people who are considered an inconvenience to others have chosen to be this way? If they had the choice to be quicker, and more swifter don't you think they would. Have compassion and empathy and get rid of your smug, and unsympathetic attitude. These people are to be honored, cherished, and taken care of. They are people who have forgotten more than some of us may ever learn. Try assisting when you see one of them struggling to get off the bus, or offer assistance....but believe me buddy...........u are no better than any of them; maybe a little more fortunate but no better. I hope u always have your health because if not; these very thoughts of yours will surely come back to haunt u.................

Because not everyone like you has the health to do all those things straight away some of the elderly community take their time as they cannot for medical reasons do things quickly. You should have a bit more respect for your fellow humans and be thankful for your health. My Grandmother is very elderly and very ill and it takes her all her time to do anything. Maybe it isn't the fact that they are slow it may be the fact that we are so self involved and rush through life that everyone else seems to be slower than us.

Maybe you are more sensitive about people in your age group. What about groups of self-absorbed teens? Families with children? People who've just noticed someone they know? And so on. Many, if not most, people are liable to be absent-minded, unprepared and oblivious to others sometimes. Hey, be patient, even relax and smile, take a look around you, what's the hurry?

And don't forget driving. I was on the A19 today just for 3 miles or so and had to overtake 2 60 plus male drivers. I was only doing 55!!
