a woman was asking about how after over a year without breastfeeding, she still had milk in her breasts?
As a idiot guy, I kinda thought they always had milk in them, just more when they were breastfeeding. If the milk is only in there during breastfeeding, whats in there the rest of the time? I mean, if some of them get so big, I would just assume milk, because thats what breasts are for, right?
sorry if this question is a bit intrusive, im just curious.

Breast tissue consists mostly of fat. Mammory glands within the breast secrete milk if prompted by certain hormonal signals. The milk production continues until the feeding stops.

Don't be ashamed about not knowing... Everyone has questions. Everyone has misconceptions. The only person who ought to be ashamed is the one who wont ask a question.

Well, I don't think you are being intrusive and I don't think you are asking to be a pervert, so here's the asnwer to your questions as best I know. Women's breasts are designed to produce milk, but only when there is a need, it's supply and demand. During pregnancy your body begins to prepare for nursing by building up your milk ducts. You don't actually have milk until the baby is a few days old, before that you have a fluid called colostrum that is good for the baby's immunity. After you wean the baby, it can take a few days or even weeks for the milk to dry up. Different breast sizes are determined by the amount of fat in your breasts, not by milk, so even small breasted women can produce enough milk for their babies. I don't know why the woman you mentioned would still have milk after a year of not breast feeding, that must be a medical issue because it is not typical. I hope I have cleared up your confusion.

I dont think you are an idiot and the serious answers are the right ones..you made my night tho asking..it reminded me of my grandson when he saw my daughter breastfeeding his baby sibling for the first time..He said, "Mummy, what are you doing?"..she replied, "Giving the baby a drink"...He being eight, thought about it then came back with.."Does that mean there is food in the other one?"...I am also naive in many things and if you dont ask..you will never know..so ask away..

Women only lactate, or produce milk, when they have given birth. The only reason is to feed the baby. If they had no baby to feed, there would be no need to lactate. What is in them "for the rest of the time"? Same as your chest. Just fatty tissue.

You are definitely an idiot guy and if your school offered sex education classes you would have answers to your questions.
You are confusing breasts that secrete milk on demand from a baby suckling with jugs that store milk in the supermarket - not the same thing.

Mammory glands are triggered by hormones if a woman is pregnant, thus they produce breastmilk! Huge boobs however are triggered by a man touching them in certain ways. You are not an idiot, just curious like you said!

If men had milk in them they would be squirting their buddies when they got drunk.
