Or just eat what you like and not worry if it has mono dextro synthetic crap in it?

I've always eaten what I liked which was a mix of healthy veggies and cake and cookies and icecream. Taste was and is always important and it took me a while to eat raw veggies and tofu and all that but there are time when I would kill for a preprocessed dextro guar gum monosaturated chocolate covered donut.

I asked the question because I saw an Oprah episode with a surgeon (he was dressed in hospital garb the entire freaking time to remind us he was a surgeon! dick!) and all he did was point out the crap in foods which are not healthy. I just could not understand why he was preaching to us and not the manufacturers adding all that crap in the food. As consumers we're not stupid. What's on the store shelves is where it begins. I'm sorry, the whole "Take me seriously I'm dressed in my surgical clothes" just pissed me off.

I tend to make things fresh rather than eat ready meals, and vegetables don't have ingredients labels. If I buy something in a tin, or ready made sauce I check the labels.

I try to, but in Canada everything has to be in two languages, which makes the print almost too small to read. Maybe this is why small items are packaged in bigger boxes. No room to get all the writing on it.

If I read the label it makes me feel bad about what I'm eating. So I stick to not looking at it!
