NYC-Johns on Bleeker , Lombardi's on Spring , Patsy's on 1 st Ave in Spanish Harlem, Grimaldis in Brooklyn under the bridge and in Coney Island there is Tottonnos - Great Pizza all
. There are many places in the NYC metropolitan area including Philly and New Haven that make very good pizza.
The deep dish product that is made is made in Chicago is often very good to excellent, the problem is that IT'S NOT PIZZA so any comparison is automatically invalid.

My Sister lives in Lincoln Nebraska, I can NEVER make the 5 hour trip there without stopping at Valentino's Pizza. Their "Special" is the best pizza I have ever had in my entire life. I'll buy several half baked ones to take home. YUMMY!!

NY by far! Chicago pizza has this flaky crust....WTF? It's pizza, not a pastry! You get a good cheesy NY slice, you can fold it in half and you're set!

Hey Mixemup, I used to go to Pepe's all the time, when I lived in Hamden.
I was trying to think of the name and address so that I could put it on here.
Definitely Pepe's
They used to have an addition in an old stone barn behind the restaurant. Great atmosphere. Greater pizza.

New York style Pizza is thin crust..
Chicago style Pizza is deep dish...
I prefer deep dish but I do like both...

i prefer the thin crust. deep dish pizza isn't really pizza. it's a casserole. pizza hut in any city would do. little caeser's was excellent until they got cheap and started using artificial cheese. they went out of business soon after.

Overall, the best pizza come from locla or local chains.

No one city can lay claims to having the "best" pizza, just some of the best
