God forgives your sins - if you do not forgive others - why should He forgive you?

In other words - give what is given to you!

Good question!

Forgiveness is the most amazing act of love that you can ever experience. It is very supernatural the way that all of your anger, sadness and resentment simply disappear when you forgive. Also God is good enough to forgive us for all of the sins that we commit against him. Who are we to think that we are above forgiving a fellow human being? God Bless

Because you have been forgiven much.

When someone has been wronged and holds a grudge against that person, being unwilling to forgive, then you are not showing that unconditional love which the Lord shows us. The Bible says that if we forgive others of their wrongs to us, then we also will be shown forgiveness

There are spirits operating behind everything. Either it's of God or of Satan. If they have wronged you in some way, you have to look at the spirit they're operating under. It makes it easier to understand people and their behavior if you look at everything from a spiritual perspective, therefore, making it easier to forgive their sin. I'm sure you've done SOMETHING to someone, even if it was just saying something negative. You want forgiveness, so give it.

@ jaycubb, you shouldn't speak as if you've met every Christian in this world. You can only go by those you've come across and I don't think you've come across EVERY single Christian.

When you forgive people who haved wronged you you are beginning to move on and grow as a person. If you harbor ill feelings and get upset about it you can keep that with you for a long time. It can be distructive to YOU. The 'crime' was committed once and is now inthe past. To more forward to forgive in your heart.

Very, very hard to do, but the lesson is so that you can get on with YOUR life.

Best of luck sweety!

Yes Matthew 6:14-15 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Because God has forgiven us and we are to be like Christ. Jesus clearly says that if we do not forgive others, then the Father in heaven will not forgive us. Christianity is a system of forgiveness, not a religion. Religion is about self-righteousness and the self-righteous person can never forgive. God is righteous, not self-righteous. If God were self-righteous, then there would be no forgiveness and we would all be destroyed. Islam is about self-righteousness, which is why they get upset over every little comment----they do not know how to forgive. Even if the Pope apologized and offered himself up as a sacrifice for Allah, they would not satisfied. the self-righteous are never satisfied with anything because they cannot forgive. Let us not be like them. Let us forgive their intrusions upon our faith and their murderous conduct. God will take care of the wicked for us. God says. "Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord, I will repay." God created hell for his vengeance, as a place for the wicked to go after death. Let us do our part in God's plan and forgive. Those of us who walk in Christ are to walk in forgiveness 24/7.

Yes and in act we should forgive 7x7x7. a forgving heart is a more humble heart. And if we ask Jesus for forgiveness then we need to forgive others. Also God says vengenance is mine saith the Lord. When we realize that God is the only one that knows the whole truth of any situation and He knows if the other party has sought forgiveness then we have to leave it up to Him to deal with it. therefore if we have a forgiving heart we are acting as God wants us to.

Believe or not forgiving does more for us than for them. Unforgiveness leads to bitterness and bitterness leads to many ailments in life. Even chinese medicinal theory attests to this. Ancient chinese medicianal text which is still practice today maps emotions to specific parts of the body. Bitterness is related to the liver or gall.
Forgiving is actually the loving. When we love we bring health to ourselves.
To forgive is also to show mercy. So that Father in Heaven will elevate the lowly. His hand is not short nor eye cannot see, that He cannot see the injustice or grievances that you have gone through. But sometimes human wisdom cannot comprehend the wisdom of the Spirit. Its only when we abandon human logic and fling ourselves to the boundary of human understanding and beyond, till even absurdity that God can take over and show us deeper revelations and Truth that can and will set us free beyond the graspm of our tiny understanding and in that moment we will truly have a glimpse of eternity in our hearts.

Because the Bible says so. No really, forgiveness is more for yourself than for others. To not forgive breeds hatred inside you. Forgiving them will give you peace.
