One batch of important digital photos got corrupted while transferring them from camera to computer through a card reader. I never had such problem before.
The 'photos' have adequate bites, and show up as thumb nails. Is there a simple way to recover the ?
I have tried some options available on the net but in vain.
Thanks

I had some in exactly that same situation that were irreplaceable ones taken at a family party. I tried downloads from the chip and directly from the camera but neither way worked. I tried the free programs available on the Internet but they could not even find them on the memory card. I finally found one called DiskInternals Uneraser by using google. It offered a free trial in which it would try to recover the pictures just to prove that it could but then would not save them for free. It really did get them so I forked over the $30 for the program and got back several hundred images from the party (and even some from a Halloween party and a prom that had been erased long ago and never overwritten). I don't usually buy those kinds of programs over web but was delighted with this one. It turns out that it also can do not just the little camera chips but also those thumb sized flash memories and regular disks (since they all have the same internal setup).
One crucial thing is as soon as you have the problem stop using the memory because new things could overwrite the files you want to recover and destroy them beyond any simple recovery.

Have you delete the photos from the camera. I would assume yes. Then how about have you start using the same storage card, eg SD Card.

If you did not use the card after you delete the photos, you can look for those data recovery company to help you to recover the data, at a price.

If you have reuse the card, you may have over written some photos, and only some can be recovered.

If you still have the files in the camera, try downloading them directly to your computer without using a card reader.
