Had a flight from Geneva to London Cancelled this morning...then when we finally arrived 1 of our 5 bags we checked in together was missing...can someone explain how 1 out of 5 can go missing and why the que at missing baggage for BA flights was full with people from all over the world coming into London while the other airlines desks were empty??? Something very strange is going on that they are not telling people as this now seems to be happening on BA flights inbound to London almost everyday on most routes. Doesnt make much sense......does it.

I don't get it either. It seems that everytime I fly on BA, half of the baggage will come out, then the belt will stop and we'll all be standing around staring at each other. Then they'll make an announcement that one of the doors in the cargo hold is jammed so it will be 15 minutes. I'd believe them if they didn't give the exact same excuse everytime.

Ditto with the lost bags. I had the same thing happen on the way to the Caribbean. They lost my bag but said it would show up in 24 hours and they'd call me at the hotel. It showed up 3 days later at my hotel (the hotel called the wrong room number so I wasn't aware it had finally arrived) and each day that I called BA to follow up on the trace they'd say they hadn't found it yet. Even after the bag was delivered they were still saying they hadn't found it!!!

Thanks for letting me rant.

Since the 9/11 ordeal, it all has become pretty screwed up. It probably would be cheaper to not allow anything to come on with the passengers and just send the baggage on a separate plane.

RE; your one missing bag - that one was probably screened on a random check. It will prob. show up eventually.

Good luck in your travels.

it is because they are hungover. and drank too much the night before your flight. that or maybe one of the workers got ticked off and was gonna quit and therefore wanted to cause a problem on his way out! that or because of the whole terror thing.
