If I brew my own iced tea (tea, water, splenda) and drink 8 cups daily, is this adequate for daily water intake? I don't really like the taste of water, and I know water has all these great benefits so does this count?

what if I don't brew the tea so strong does it keep the caffeine low? I've tried lipton green tea on the go, I just wanted something different. Does anyone know if they make like reg orange pekoe tea without caffeine?

Tea is a natural diuretic, so it would not be a good source for your 8 cups/day. 1 cup of juice and 1 cup of milk do count towards it. Try adding lemon or lime to your water, also crystal light is acceptable to help get your water intake.

For the most part yes, tea=water for daily intake. The caffeine diuretic effect counterbalances some the of the hydration, but it is negligible. The best tea as water substitute is Green Tea.

Yes but then you're probably taking in too much caffeine. You could also stir in some Crystal Light with water to give it a good taste. They now make those with no sugar and low in calories. They come in little strips just enough to pour into a bottled water and shake up... and it tastes good too.

If the tea is caffeinated I think that you would have to drink more than you would if the tea was herbal because caffeine has dehydrating qualities.
