there is an option to put passwords in an pps file. just open the file and click the tools > options tab and then > security tab under that type your password to protect the document.

The easiest answer I can think of is to use a program like winzip or winrar and put a password on it so that you have to use the password to unzip it. as far as using powerpoint to do it, I am not sure how.
