For example, sometimes people like to say how skinny I am. I'm not that skinny! I don't look sick, and everyone close to me agrees with this.

Mermaid - people who are 'grown up' don't call others "skinny cow" with such bitterness. Hypocrite.

Well, it's not an everyday occurrence, but the funniest time I've ever had anyone point anything out about me like that was at a Renaissance Festival. I was in a costume with a short skirt, a modification that had a bodice at the top and a bottom like a French maid's outfit with bloomers underneath. I'm fairly tall, with very long legs, and this group of men walked by and shouted, "Look at that chick over there, she's got legs all the way up to her @**." I just looked back and quipped, "Most people do," and to this day I still have a laugh about it.

Yes, rude people always get a kick out of pointing out flaws, or things we are self-conscious about. If you really aren't that skinny then don't worry what other people say about you. They are probably just jealous that you weigh less then them, or that you look better then them. Many people try to make others feel bad, so that they feel better about themselves. As long as you are happy with your body that is all that matters.

I used to have a "friend" whose brother was a total jerk, and he had no room to talk, but he used to comment on my butt all the time. I'm not fat by any means but I'm not uber skinny either. They called me up one day before halloween and he got on the phone and said that they had been shopping and had found the perfect costume for me. He asked if I had any gray sweats and if I did that I should wear them over and he would write "Goodyear" on my *** so I could be the Goodyear blimp. With friends like that who needs enemies.....I don't talk to them anymore.
These are people who think that if you're 5'8" (like she was) you should not weigh more than 120lbs. Losers..........

I am from the south, but I live among a lot of transplants, and they love to tell me (or point out) when I say something "incorrectly" or with a drawl.
Who cares how someone talks?

Yes- I am short. My 12yo stepdaughter can't come near me without standing next to me and yapping about being taller than me. My DH's ex-best friend used to tease me about wearing shoes with thick soles, saying I was trying to look taller. Oh, and also I can't eat peanut butter- and the same stepdaughter can't shut up about that one. Just this weekend, she opened a jar and chirped, "I still can't get over you not liking peanut butter!" clearly all pleased with herself for some reason. I said back (meanly) "Oh well, I can't get over y'all [her dad, her brother, and she all hate chicken] not eating chicken. I mean, people have peanut allergies, but all normal people eat chicken." Sorry, but jeez, every time peanut butter has come up over the 5 years I've known her she's made this same stupid comment.
