I have been hearing alot hype about the Xbox 360 and I am not a video game expert so I would like all the opinions of video game addicts to let me know if Xbox 360 is worth with price.

Does he have a regular XBox? Gamestop/EBX is having a special trade-in for $80 off an XBox 360 console. This would save money if he is set on getting the XBox 360.
Game console wars? I'm not sure what the Nintendo Wii does, but I played both XBox 360 and PS3 early in 2005 (I'm an EA Sports Employee). They were both development kits (the $10,000-$15,000 versions) used to build the videogames on. I would think that the Nintendo controller is retarded and difficult to operate so it turned me off immediately. PS3 is still up in the air because I did not enjoy playing it. XBox 360 was my clear favorite! He should go for it!

As of this moment, it is. You have the choice of getting one worth $300 or one worth $400 that has more stuff than the one of the $300 tag. If the kid is younger, wait for the Nintendo Wii. It comes November 19 at $250. Surely you must have heard of that one with the remote for a game controller. If your boyfriend has the cash, then the Xbox 360 and the Wii are two great consoles. PS3 is still doubtful to me.

Yes! This system is awesome and has a much better controller than PS2 or PS3. The Xbox is proven to be better for your wrist health. Check out all the Xbox 360 games that are already out http://www.videogamebuttons.com/xbox360/ and keep in mind you will not get your hands on a PS3 until after the new year do to expected shortages when they launch.

Yes , XBox 360 is a good choice. There are a lot of game with this new console. But, the price of the game is also high, ranging from $40 - $80.

How old is your son and how much are you willing to pay?
If he's younger, I'd wait and see how the Nintendo Wii is- it's MUCH cheaper (about 250) compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Wait until December (if it's for x-mas) to see the reviews of all 3 systems. I wouldn't want you spending 500+ for something that loses in the upcoming races.

The XBox 360 is way to an expensive item to buy for a child. I consider that an adult toy, for somebody who works and can provide for himself.
(I have one and I love it). If he's a late teen, then he should at least contribute half the cost, if the father insists on buying one.
Keep in mind the games are about $50 a pop!

the x box 360 is well worth getting and its kinda cheap (around 300 to 350 $) but the ps3 coming out soon too ( in Nov) but will cost ALOT!( 600$) also u can play movies this time on it !!! and the price is kinda high

it is worth the price but the ps3 coming out soon will be much better just like when ps2 came out early to try and beet xbox original xbox supped up and out did ps2 with better price and performance that same will be true with ps3 it will return the favor on xbox

My brother loves it. I must say it is the best looking visual system out right now. The best graphics by far. And if you have it hooked up to a surround sound system , well it doesnt get much better than that

I agree with first poster that depending on age the Wii might be much better.
I am an adult and rather get that one myself too.
You can also get the ds, lite now for $125. teh games at 30 bucks too, and its pretty fun.
