It is one of the methods (lies) made up by unscrupulous clerics to get poor and uneducated people to do things that give these clerics more power. They are promising these people a reason to believe in something outside their very bleak life. And, remember, ALL clerics are not like this.........just a few.
People who have nothing are willing to try anything for a better life.

It means some people will believe any invented story.
If one was to think it through, it doesn't make sense.
The next life is not physical ...why the emphasis on 'virgins'?
Why 72?
If a muslim killed himself blowing up other muslims (what we call friendly-fire) does he still get 72 brown-eyed girls.
Isn't that prejudice against blue-eyed girls?
What about the minority of green-eyed girls.
Why does Allah reward violence?

Suicide bombers are promised a lot in the afterlife - whatever will get them to destroy themselves in the act of destroying others. You'd have to come up with something pretty spectacular to con someone into killing themself just to get it, wouldn't you?
72 virgins seems a bit weak to me. There would have to be more.

I've never had a problem with islam but the more i find out the more i realise they have serious issues. You can tell from the way their surpress the women. If there is a god do you really think he would make half of the species inferior to the other for no reason?

It's easy to get young men to do your bidding if you promise them the right thing. Stick them in a repressed world where you can't even see a girl's ankle and keep them chaste and they will blow themselves up in no time.

I heard it's 144 virgins. Could you imagine the recession of virgins in the next life. I know the prophet Muhammad isn't getting any he died from a poisoned lamb dinner. (Peace on his soul).

Needless to say, that is all they get, just sensual pleasures. Allah, I guess, is nowhere around, because nobody talks about praising him.
Christians, on the other hand, get to live close to their God. Isn't this a lot better?
