It may or may not be normal depending on the amount of sleep he gets in the average night while sleeping beside you. Also, does he work long days that require him to get decent rest or does he start work early in the morning? As well as that, is this a regular thing that he sleeps in the spare room or is it once or twice a week? He may not just have the heart to tell you that you talk too much when he's trying to sleep or maybe its sex thats keeping him from sleep, but whatever it is, i would recommend you sit down and discuss it with him, and don't be offended if he says he wants to sleep, some people need more sleep than others

It doesnt sound quite normal, but I dont think that is is worth panicking over it just yet.
I would get a bigger bed and see if he still wants to sleep in the spare room.

why would he have moved in if he is going to sleep in the spare bedroom. But if he is too tall for the bed why not look into getting a bigger one.

If he wants a whole bed to himself , he should have thought of this before he decided to live with you. Obviously, he wants to sleep alone to get that nights rest..

some people would rather sleep alone. his height has nothing to do with it. i am tall and i have several friends who are even taller... we sleep with women and share beds (with the women) and nobody has ever said i sleep better when i have the bed all to myself. he is a selfish sleeper. he prefers to sleep alone.

I think this is something that should have come up before he moved in.
It would be a definite problem for me if roles were reversed.

some people just need to have their space when sleeping. my parents sleep in different room as well as my grandparents. if it bothers maybe you should talk to him about and try to find some middle ground.
