I have come up with two things so far. War(civil/national) and cannibalism. Oh, and political corruption, but that exists either way. Please be sure to add the reason why you think...whatever you think.

Well, there are variable results of poverty, of which, a few you have already mentioned. I can only think of the most radical and most likely result; the death of masses. More and more people are going to die. Lets take out the politics and economic view. Lets look at things more down to earth and radical. The harsh truth is that many people die because of poverty.

When people's needs are not met, they revert to the basic needs e.g they stop asking questions like what you are doing (the higher needs of intellectual curiousty and the time to do it) and stick with sex, food, maternal instinct. Notice how poor nations have rampant aids. This is a result of having to have sex without bothering about the consequences or the means to pay for safer sex. Notice again how the mothers are still protective where the child for all intent an purposes looks "beyond" help. Notice further how people will fight for food and self preservation whenever a UN food truck arrives. Consider yourself lucky and let us have a lot more compassion and stretch out to those more in need than us. "We may not have shoes but there are others without feet".

Along with the political corruption comes genocide. Think about it, where are most of the poverished living? Hint: they aren't white.

lack of education to get great jobs so people settle for jobs that keep them down,
or not seeing that can do better for thery have the skills but they are allowing poor mind set to get in there way. ( those are people i have seen first hand, but i am sure there are plenty of other reasons)
