Cos this is my first time traveling to Guangzhou alone. Thus, abit worry if i should go on my own or just cancel the plan. And wait till someone to go with me??

would be safe, no worries. I am not a resident there, but used to work there back in 2001; if u r unsure, u can book in a nearby hotel and take the trip to zhuhai square in the morning. But as I have said, china is a fairly safe place, guangzhou included. safer than in otehr parts of the world, thats for sure. Just dont try the guangzhou railways.. thats, from what i heard , is a place even the local police wont dare touch.

There are usually lines of taxis outside the airport. Queue and make sure to take those legal taxis, howeveer long the line is. If someone come up to u inviting u to take his/her taxi, do not go with them.

Taxis in the airports are all safe. no worries...

Baiyun Airport is quite far away from the city center. However, most part of the journey is on the highway.

It is better for you to flag a taxi from a 5-star hotel than a hostel. The taxis waiting in the 5-star hotels are safer. Moreover, the concierge will take note of the taxi numbers for you in case there is a complaint.

Nevertheless, take all precautions at all time. Why wouldn;t you want to go to the airport earlier? Take a taxi to the bus stations that have airport shuttle services. It is safer and cheaper. Spend your time at the airport while waiting for your flight.

the guangzhou airport is the latest and greatest, just like all the large airports in the united states. it is about a 45 minute taxi ride from the airport to town. cost is around 80 yuan. the airport is well lit and also has bus service to town. hopefully you can speak some chinese. most taxi drivers can't speak english or only a little. but the experience shouldn't be too traumatic. like others have said, maybe you can contact the hotel and have a shuttle sent out for you. the airport is very easy to manuever around in.

Is it a tourist-friendly place? I'm not sure about Guangzhou, but I've been in a similar situation in Bali last year. It was different because Bali is extremely tourist-friendly so hailing a cab and getting safely to a hotel wasn't worrying. Actually my situation was worse because I didn't even arrange for any prior accomodations!

If you aren't sure about the situation in Guangzhou, you might want to arrange for accomodations first and request for airport transfers with the hotel that you are staying in. I don't mind going with you if you are female.... I'm a female travel freak. Just email me the details.

individually, i've got self belief that the southern areas of china, alongside with Guangzhou isn't secure, because of the earnings inequality. Taxi could be ok, as they are often regulated, on the same time as, the risky area may be the time u look ahead to a taxi or on the advent holiday spot. you may determine you're taking the final regulated cab, have license, it is. you're able to do away with this concern by using reserving lodge delivery provider to %. you up from airport. Take taxi from airport is definately greater powerful than figuring out on one from someplace in the midst of the night. Taxi in china is way less costly.

When you get there go to desk for hotels, if they are open they can call a taxi or shuttle for you. Your hotel may even have one that will pick you up just call them when you arrive.

That is a peak period in China because of their "National Day" so you better plan properly and be very, very careful. Try to reach you through e-mail but failed. Hopefully can e-mail me with your personal e-mail address.
