You did the right thing. Even if they were both priced at Retail the Avalon is a Much better car than a BMW. More reliable, more comfortable, more efficient and much more practical for daily commutes! Also, over the long run, the Toyota will have much lower maintenance/repair costs.

That price sounds too good to be true...... also, BMWs are not known for their reliability, lately, and Toyotas are, so you made a better choice. However, a Toyota Avaolon isn't really a comparable car to a BMW...... the Avalon is more comparable to a Buick Lesabre, Mercury Grand Marquis, Chevy Impala, etc, you know, big sub-luxury cars. You made a good choice though, Toyota makes a great car.

The Avalon is probably a lot more reliable than the BMW. However, $3,500 is extremely cheap. You might have been able to buy the Beemer, clean it up and sell it for a profit. But as far as reliable transportation is concerned, you're better off with the Toyota.

A '99 BMW @ $3500 is definitely too good to be true, there has got to be something wrong with it, trust me. If you're really interested make sure you ask the owner what's wrong with it, don't buy that "must sell" stuff, nobody "must sell" to the point of loosing that much money. So, open the hood, and try to look for anything that looks a little abnormal, and look at the sides of the car to see if it was in an accident. Also, you can visit carfax.com for a small fee you'll get the vehicle history...
Hope this helps :)

Toyotas very last a lengthy time period, get strong gasoline mileage, and are low upkeep, if it really is what you advise through more beneficial positive. won't be able to conquer a Beemer for overall performance, even if the upkeep may be somewhat intense priced. i imagine the most proper autos will be hybrids. i do not study upkeep, even if the gasoline mileage ought to pay for the more beneficial expenditures, and then some, given the cost of gasoline.
