I'm really good about eating healthy throughout the week, but it seems on weekends it just kind of goes downhill. My husband always wants to go out to eat Fridays and Saturdays, and we usually have a potluck with friends on Sundays, and I blow my diet. What are some tricks to sticking to your healthy eating on the weekends? Thanks!

This is a really good question that I am sure many of us struggle with. For me eating out means eating 'bad'. So I guess making the healthiest choices from the menu is one way. And also cutting your restaurant portion in half before you start eating and take the rest home (you can even ask the waitstaff to take half away before your start eating so you won't be tempted). If you are going to a potluck make sure the dish you bring is something healthy that you like. That way you know there is something there you can eat- fill up on this (or at least make sure you don't go to the potluck starving) and then allow yourself small portions of the not so good for you stuff. Make sure to drink lots of water too. And above all- don't be too hard on yourself if you do blow it!

Splurging is okay once a week.
If you have to go out more than that, then

* eat a good healthy meal before going to the potluck so you don't eat as much there
* also eat a healthy meal before going out to the restaurant so you don't fill up on appetizers & desserts.
* make healthy choices at the restaurant / potluck(broiled/ grilled choices?)
* cut down on the portion you eat
* after you eat, try to go out for a stroll with whomever you dined with. It's a good time to talk :o)

You don't. The truth is, you need to plan a splurge day just to keep your sanity. For example, Friday is pizza day, instead of eating the cheese pizza that I feed the kid's DH and I order a thin crust chicken pizza with loads of veggies on it. Love it. Then for dessert, I eat the no sugar added ice cream. During the week, I am on-spot with the diet. Lean meats, clean high fiber carbs and green veggies all week long. I'm ready for some yommies by Friday.

I used to have the same problem. I seen a pattern where I would eat anything on the weekend. I had to become disciplined. I had surround myself with the healthy foods I like to eat. And when we had those big dinners I would eat only one of my cheat foods that would satisfy me.

Weigh yourself on Fri am, and again on Mon am every week. That will keep you hoping all weekend your Mon am wt. is the same or lower than your Fri wt. Mine was a pound higher today, UGH!! But now I know I need to do better this week.
Hope this idea helps you!!

Even some megastar people previous & contemporary had a cheat day (I examine in a biography that Bruce Lee allowed himself McDonald's 1x a week). besides, practice nutrients that extra healthful your nutrition plan beforehand and freeze them. That way all you're able to do is warmth them up. AND in case you're able to do force via, maximum places have salads :) sturdy success!

Just watch what you eat on the weekends. And it doesn't hurt to splurge now and then, so don't worry about it!
