1.) I am not christian or religious but i do not get offended when someone says bless me or god bless me. A lot of people when they say it mean well to you...they jsut have positive thoughs for you and are wishing you safety and happiness... though their thoughts on your cause of happiness and safety are different from theirs...they just mean well...no need to get upset or angry. If you were working at a store and you rang out a costumer and they said "thank you, god bless" ..would you get angry at them and take their purchase back? If you did, you wouldnt have a job anylonger. heh

2.) You should definatly give them the best answer if their answer is the best.

If it is a good question - regardless of any religious context (I'm an atheist) I will give them the best answer. They deserve it. If there is a God bless you, I am touched because I know they are being nice and it is a compliment.

when someone says god bless you they usually mean in the context of giving your their best thoughts and wishes. I couldn't be offended at that....they simply believe differently, so I'd appreciate that they cared to say it...its a nice sentiment....I have seen christians get offended when others say "good luck" but to me it's the same sentiment, just articulated to reflect what they believe.
Best wishes :)

I am one of the guilty (?) ones.

I add a blessing to the responses I give when I think that the person asking the question is sincerely interested in the answer.
I have discovered that God's blessings are multiplied when they are shared. Therefore I ask my heavenly Father to bless you with His best.

May God bless you richly!

Why does it matter if someone expresses their values while giving you advice? I am not christian, but if someone says God bless you to me on here after giving advice i do not think they are being pushy with their religion so itdoes not bother me. Now if they tell me, "you are falling to the devil, you need to find God and christianity.. blah blah....." then yeah, i find it disrespectful..... but hey, i can say blessed be and Goddess bless, right? that is not offensive and i am not pushing my religion on someone else.. so

Goddess Bless

those who are here are certainly " adult enough " to realize this statement is an individual trying to help, aid and assist another in answering questions to the best of their ability. the phrase " GOD BLESS YOU " is common and hopefully none would take offense to anyone saying this here any more than saying it after a sneeze.

I take it as a pathetic and not so subtle wish for me to suffer or die. It means as much to me as an astrologer predicting my death, and I don't blow up over it, but I don't like it either.

The ones who know they are writing to atheists/agnostics/other, the intent of godbots when they say "god bless you" or "I'll pray for you" is the same as if they had said, "go fcuk yourself".

When I've received responses like that, sometimes I test them by replying, "And may satan take your immortal soul". You wouldn't believe the typically christian - oops, I mean, unchristian - responses I've seen. The godbots *know* I don't put stock in their crap or in what I said, but they act like I had shot a gun at their heads.

In a way, a gofducker who says, "god bless you" is a like a kid who just got the crap kicked out of him and says, "I'll get you back for that!" The problem is, the gofducker is the bully, and I just kicked his behind while defending myself from an unprovoked attack.
