I really wonder what they were testing in your blood for depression. Was it thyroid? I would talk to your doctor if you think you are depressed. Yes in 5 years time a great deal of things can change and you could be depressed. The main thing is that you are thinking you might be.
Depression can be very serious and even lead to death if left un checked. Please talk to your doctor about this and get help. There is no need to suffer. This is not your fault and there are effect treatments out there.
Here are some sites for you to look at if you want to read more about depression.

If your asking this question you probably are depressed. If your Doctor told you a blood test would show this, change Doctors. If the Doctor didn't tell you this, change doctors anyway because any good Doctor would have told you what the blood tests were really for. And you wouldn't be questioning possible depression 5 years later. Depression does not show up in blood work.

Depression can be caused by thyroid problems, which will show up in a blood test. But a negative blood test doesn't mean you aren't depressed. There are many other causes.
There's a brief online screening test for depression at http://www.med.nyu.edu/psych/screens/depres.html.
Depending on your results, you may wish to see a psychiatrist. There are many prescription medications on the market that can relieve depression in most patients.

Depression is not diagnosed by blood tests. It is a psychological problem, and while it may be related to a physical problem, the blood tests are not adequate for a diagnosis.

i think you are confused somewhere , blood tests are not used for finding out if you are depressed, they are used to find out if you have any in-balance in the cells that can cause other problems,
stress and depression are conditions of the mind and blood tests would not help determine if you were suffering from this or not

Depression is not something that can be diagnosed with a blood test. Here is a link to a very interesting BBC Radio 4 programme on the subject (I hope it still works - they usually disappear after about a week). Get well soon.

There is no blood test for depression! Depression is diagnosed by your behavior and responses to your surroundings. Who told you there was a blood test for Depression? If it was your doctor I would look for another doctor...run girl run....he's a quack!
