I pulled my hair back with a purple pony tail holder last night before getting into the hot tub. When I woke up this morning, there were awful reddish streaks throughout my hair, where apparently the dye from the pony tail holder bled onto my hair. I've washed it 3 times with a clarifying shampoo, which took some of it out, but I still have plenty of noticeable red running through my hair! Any ideas on removing it? My hair is naturally blonde.

I'd go in person to a good salon and ask the girl at the desk. She'll ask the stylists. They have products that you can't get get anywhere else, and the expertise. If they can help, then make an appointment.

Hi, yes... The clarifying/purifying shampoo will help. But, try mixing a little baking soda with water, forming a paste, and leaving it on for 10-15 minutes. Then shampoo it out but, before conditioning and drying it, check the color by towel drying your hair. If it is still noticeable, repeat the procedure. The baking soda is a clarifying agent and would also remove hairspray build-up. I've used it in my salon before. Contact me if you wish. =o) Cosmetologist

the baking soda will probably work. if not the salon will put shampoo and 10 vol peroxide in a shampoo cap and leave it on the area checking every 2-3 minutes that will definitely get it out. or try regular household peroxide it is 3% and the baking soda. it is a good thing to get skunk spray smell out of dogs, but it lightens the hair slightly.don't do any haircoloring though. it will make your situation worse and could look blotchy.

I've never heard of that before. I would go to a salon and see what they say. You might have set the dye with the hot water. I know they say to not wash a stain in hot water because it can set, You might have to dye the spot blond again.
