i read the tarot for myself and keep getting the same answer about a person but it never happens. is it true?

Instead of using it to tell the future, use it the only way it can be useful -- as a mirror. When you read the 'future events' cards, don't look at them as a prediction, rather, realize that how you interpret them is just what you think about it. If the cards help you see from a different view point, great. If not, no harm done, they're just a bunch of cardstock with agreed-on images on them.

Reading the tarot for yourself is discouraged by most tarot readers because you can't make an objective interpretation of what the cards show. You can easily bend the interpretation to mean what you want it to without being aware that you are doing it. There is a book I saw at Barnes and Noble about reading the tarot for yourself but from I've seen, it really doesn't work that well.

I personally think that tarot cards do have an uncanny ability to "say" stuff that kind of relates to the situation at hand, but I suspect that it has more to do with your own subconscious. It is probably "saying" somethign that you either very strongly hope or very strongly fear. I wouldn't put too much stock in it.

God tells us not to believe in divination. The things you are experiencing are why he said this. Feelings of disappointment, resentment, and uncertainty all destroy your out look on life making you skeptical, jaded and unwilling to believe in anything spiritual again. It destroys hope, and fosters resentment. Stay away from tarot cards as you can tell they don't work anyway.
