The federally mandated free credit reports are being gradually rolled out across the country, beginning on the West Coast last December. Starting September 1, 2005, every American will be able to get a free credit report per year from each credit bureau. ( BY MAIL ) all on line will not give you your Fico score that is different from credit score... Here is the information where you can get your free credit report free from the 3 mayor company in USA.

Go to the equifax/transunion/experion websites. You can hook up to the federally mandated free credit report through their websites. You are allowed one free REPORT per year. If you want your FICO score, you will need to pay a nominal fee to the credit bureau. Typically the fee is between $7-8.00 and you can print your report, score and factors that affect your score. If you're just interested in the report itself, you can get it for free.
I ordered my report online from Equifax on 9/5 and they have a box to check off that allows no more than the last 4 digits of your SSN to be printed on the report. If you do your report online I seriously suggest this in case for ANY reason you misplace, accidentally toss or lose your report.

You have to pay for your credit report. Its about 7-8 bucks. If you think you can get it for free, you may wind up getting an incorrect bogus report. Get a professional one from equifax.com! your credit score will be seperate! You have to pay an extra 6-7 bucks for that too if you want to know what it is.

AnnualCreditReport.com is the ONLY site you can get your free reports.
FreeCredit Report.com is free for 30 days and you must cancel your subscription or you'll be charged a monthly fee.
Annualcreditreport.com does not ask for credit card information.
