Loving a person from a different race is difficult especially because most likely, though not always, both of you will not have the support of your friends and especially your family. You will therefore face extra challenges as compared to same race couples.

You both have to be prepared to stand up for each other regardless of what your loved ones and even strangers, despite the fact that it is none of their business, think and say, and you will hear some things that will hurt you both.

Love does not know racial boundaries, we are all equal human beings, but the challenge is the interferance from those who have not yet accepted this and feel that some human beings are worth more than others.

I say love each other and stay happy. Prove all those suckers who want to interfere with course of true love wrong!!!!

Best of luck!

I'm not that old but my advice to you is to love fully and be comfortable with it. The color of our skin does not make love go away. If you feel so strongly about each other then be happy and embrace that. As for what people think about it...screw them! Most of society is with different races now anyways. This is not like back in the days, yeah you may get dirty looks every once in a while but look right in their face and smile, then give your man a big hug or kiss to show that you are not ashamed of the differences between your skin color. Love is blind to color remember that. Good luck and much peace to both of you.

What is it that your looking for that you don't have already. You love each other there is nothing else you need. Look people will talk but if you walk into a place with that in mine then you really don't need to be together. I'm sorry but you can't live your life for others they do nothing for you you owe them nothing. Put yourselves in a zone were there is no one else but you two. I've been through it as a matter my son's mom is black but fro me it was different I would walk into any place with her like see was the best looking girl there and proud to be with her. Were not togeather know but we are the best of friends there isn't anything I wouldn't do for her and the same for her.

I just say one thing: the most important thing is that no one of you look down on the other because of race. I am mixed (black and white) and have been married to a Caucasian. What came from outside was nothing (people looking, people talking etc) what would really hurt me was that, on a day to day basis, he would have some tongue slips and let go of his inner beliefs (that i was luck for having found myself a white husband, that people thought i was lucky, etc) That is what has really hurt. To find out, from day to day, on the little details, that he really thought he was superior to me cause of his race. That can destroy a marriage, I can tell you.

I'm white, my boyfriend is black. We are 42 & 36 respectively. We love each other and nothing else matters. Life is short, why waste time and energy on worrying about what others will think. Love your man fully and never look back!
