The legislator's in the state of New Hampshire are strictly voluntary, Even though they still have to run for office and be elected. They are only paid $100.00 dollars a year! Ask any politician in another state if they would keep their hack jobs if their pay was cut to that amount. My guess is the answer would be NO! That is of course, if you can get at least one "truthful" answer from him/her! lol

If you work in the service industry, politicians are your best friends. Just think of all those restaurants, hotels, caterers, florists, designers, beer and wine merchants, developers, and sycophants who make their living off the tax trough. And don't forget the media. I'm sure these guys love politicians.

there are some truly commited, gifted, and honest politicians. Unfortunately, there are a lot more who aren't.

sure, many of them start out with the best intension. Just after getting a taste of money and power they will do anything to keep their jobs. That's why we should VOTE them all out after a term or two.
