The pope's point was that faith and violence don't mix.

I think the point has been made very well.

Now you shouldn't insult islam and it was an irrisponsible comment on the part of the pope... However people say these kind of things all the time about every religion. If I started a riot everytime someone insulted my beliefs, I would be rioting right now!!! Personally I just accept that people believe different things to me, And wish that they would grant me the same privilege.

Offended by the hypocrisy of it certainly. How many have been put to the sword, the rack, the stake, at the behest of and with the blessing of the Catholic Church? Millions. Pizarro, Alba, Cortes, Columbus, Torquemada, all heroes of Catholic Christendom and all mass murderers. Three centuries of crusades, the despoiling of the Americas, the war on the protestants.

I agree with the pope that Mohammad was evil and I would go on to say he was a liar, allah is a false god who was originally the Babylonian god of the moon and the stars, and Islam is evil, they desire nothing more than the destruction of all things that are not Muslim.

I for one think that the Pope just quoted an antique of an Emporer and wasn't indicating agreement -- ie, he was just pointing out how Islam has been viewed in the past.

Leave it to the extremist muslims to prove a 14th century emporer point-on about Islam being Evil. Kinda makes you wonder how much hashish Mohummad was on.

I'm a Muslim and I too do not care what the Pope said, just because He is not the first one to make such comments and for sure not the last one, I don't care what people think ,Islam is my religion and I'm proud of it.

Me. Actually, I find it refreshing that someone chose to address the great "religion of peace" when the Koran tells them to kill or convert anyone who is not Islamic. And their reaction, just reinforces the point the quote made (protests, killing an innocent nun from the back, firebombing churches).
