The past few days my thumbs and a few of my fingers have been really swolen and painful to move. I can hardly move my thumbs and I dont know why. I have been tested for arthritis about 6 years ago or so when this first started to happen and the tests came back negative. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks.

There are numerous auto-immune diseases this could be. You need to be tested again and for more than just arthritis.
Lupis, Connective tissue disease etc....

6 yrs ago you would have been tested for RA (Rhuematoid Arthritis) that is just one form of arthritis. Osteo-arthritis does not show up in blood tests.

Go back to the doc--begin with your GP and then to a Rhuematologist.

Maybe you should be tested again for arthritis, because that is what it sounds like. Another thought is something like carpal tunnel. Good luck.

Could be cellulitis, which might need antibiotics, get it checked by your Doctor again.
