Everyone has the ability to grow into a perfect human being in the image and likeness of GOD. It is possible under God`s grace...His unconditional love.
Temptations lurk around us especially this new age but if we are willing to be one with GOD in His time..we will do our best to avoid these temptations by following His commandments.

We are to shoot for perfection, but the reality is that we all fall victim to temptation. In this life we cannot obtain perfection, but we can and should grow spiritually. In the hereafter, we will be given opportunities to continue our growth toward being like Christ. None of us can ever be Christ, for Jesus is the ONLY begotten Son of God, but we can grow to become LIKE or SIMILAR to him. Eternity is a long time. We are on this earth for only a short time compared to what awaits us. We should use this time to grow as much as we can. This is one reason why God has given us his word in the Bible---his truth is the means by which we grow. I must say that only those that make it to heaven will have this growth experience---hell is not a place of growth, but a place of continuous dying.

someone asked earlier... why we were here
my answer i feel covers this question also
why are we here ?
to live a physical life and experience physical emotions ... for our own spiritual development but also
for our creators development
many think of God as a perfect being .. but as a perfect being one would have to have experienced every aspect ... and God being spirit has not and cannot have these experiences unless they are had through us
from us God can understand pain , hate , jealousy , love , compassion , empathy and all these emotions that we learn through life
through our experiences on earth God can reach that perfection ... and we can begin our own path to perfection

Sure! Takes a lot of work, but I've actually SEEN it done, so it's not hard for me to believe it done. (Speaking of spiritual perfection, of course - and it's a true saint I'm talking about).
But you definitely CAN'T achieve perfection in EYERYONE'S eyes, 'cause, undeniably, there are loads of critics in the world.

Is always the goal to strive for.. is pretty difficult pathway for us humans but, one each person must attempt to follow and succeed. This phrase does refer to the spiritual more than the physical. But, the spiritual does reflect down into the physical realm.

Only after you die. We are to strive to perfect ourselves, but we never will until Heaven.
