Might do, but that bleach will eat your insides for sure

E-coli is the intestinal flora that is present in everyones intestine and is passed out through expelling of waste from the body.

Most farmers use the waste from cows and other animals for fertilization of thier crops, as they plow it into the soil and the plants absorb it, the nutrients that is. But, when it rains, it splashes this upon the vegetables, if they are low enough, if the waste hasnt decomposed enough or left on top of the soil.

You can wash your vegies and that will take the ecoli off of the vegetables. I dont know if I would use bleach, as it will leave a "taste" after you wash your vegetables!! (It could also burn young mouths!).

I wish you well..

Jesse

Not positively. And the bleach will probably be as harmful to you as the the e-coli. There is only 2 sure ways to destroy bacteria such as e-coli. Heat or irradiation.

I wouldn't want to ingest anything that had any amount of bleach on it. Food is porous and could absorb some of it.

Since the e-coli scare is limited to bagged salads I wouldn't worry to much. If you are worried rinse your fruits and veggies in something less harmful like a little bit of dish soap and water.

Actually a ingesting a little bit of bleach would not harm you. If it
were so poisonous why do we swim in it, and also drink it in tap
water? If all you are doing is killing the bacteria, and then you rinse
the bleach off afterwards, you would be ingesting such a miniscule
amount of bleach, it would never harm you in a million years.

According to a report on TV, the spinach is infected by the bacteria, i.e. it is absorbed into the spinach, and apparently no amount of washing will remove it. They suggested that if you have any bagged spinach that it be thrown out.

It couldn't hurt. Either bleach or a lil dab of antibacterial detergent.

The person with the bleach poison remark is really ill-informed. We drink chlorine everyday in tap water.

No. They are actually warning people not to do that because it is not a sure way of killing e E-coli.

The news reports said there was nothing you could do. Just throw it out or return it.

Plus bleach is not good for you.
