When you have dark hair you shuld stay along the darker lines.
I would do a golden blonde high light and maybe a purple or burgundy low light along w/ a med. brown low-light. I've seen these colors and they are beautiful
Please don't do it yourself or have a friend do it, you will not get professional results. I would have it done professionally or if money is an issue go to a beauty school and have it done. If you do these colors I am sure you will love your new look.
Good Luck,
Stylist of 9 yrs.

The more important factor in changing your hair color is what your skin tone is and what your undertones are. For instance if you are in the Lucy Liu range, then you might think about bringing some soft chestnut into your hair as highlights first, and then explore lightening all the hair up to this color. If you are more like Tia Carre, then you might try some bronze, copper highlights framing your face. If you are south east asian and much darker, then you could try some medium brown with a touch of red.
Always remember to go to a professional for the coloring, and they will also be able to guide you to some great looks to try!

black hair on an Asian girl is by far the best looking. I'm sick of seeing maroon shades in Asian hair. I looks ridiculous. If I were you just go with black color - I've been married with a Chinese woman for more than the last 15 years and have traveled all over Asia and there's still nothing better than jet black hair in my book.

I personally think that black hair is gorgeous. Everyone with hair that is light thinks that dair hair is so eye catching. Men love it too.
If you must change...try a burgundy color wash for temporary festivity. It will give a dark reddish tint but still look nice and dark at night. It will look great w/red and purple reds as the fall starts. And over time it will fade out and give you the black color again without the hair damage.
Dark hair is gorgeous.

Im asian and i had dark brown hair too and i dyed it a more golden brown, its like a lighter bronze brown, and alot of people tell me they like it. I personally hate it when asian girls dye their hair blonde just because it looks overly fake. But any dark color like red or brown looks really good.

I live in Thailand and most of the women put a tint in that shows some shades of brown, but the ones that really look the best are the ones with the shades of red, but not a bright red, like an Auburn, a reddish brown, really smart looking, turns my head every time!

Your hair sounds so pretty! I'd keep it dark and if you really want to change it, maybe go for a new hair cut instead of color. If color is a "must" maybe have a professional highlight it for you.

I think highlights are awesome for dark hair. You could go with blonde or red highlights for a more dramatic effect.
