He can call the cops if he decides to. Afterall, don't we say men and women are equal? Well, show the girl lady some of that "equallness".

He has three choices.
1) As you say, call the police and have her prosecuted.
2) Do nothing at all
3) Hit her back
Which choice he makes depends on what sort of person he is, what the relationship is between the two people, and the reasons behind her hitting him.
Oh, and to correct a wrong answer above... it wouldn't be GBH, it would be ABH (actual bodily harm)

sure why a double standard? If a man was to hit a woman and break her nose would you call the cops? The real issue is that the woman does not have enough control of herself to prevent such an occurance. She may get away with it with this individual, but she may end up hitting the wrong man some day and getting her #@s kicked. Now if she hits him first and he retaliates who is wrong and who is right?Violence in a relationship is a dead end street,no one wins and it could end up with dire consequences.

I'm a woman and I've always believed if a woman steps in a mans shoes she needs to be treated like one hit her back maybe next time she'll think twice before she does it the second time.

Ideally, yes.
Realistically, it depends on whether or not he is willing to take the time and effort to press charges. If he isn't, then he shouldn't waste the police's time with this when they could be out there chasing criminals. (Granted, they could also be sitting in a donut shop, but never mind that... because if even one time they miss catching a criminal because they were called for a waste of time, then the man has done the community a disservice, albeit inadvertently)

Unless she did it in self defense then absolutly! No one should be allowed to get away with hurting another individual! Not only should the cops be called she should pay for the medical bills!

Absolutely, domestic violence should be treated equally, it is only fair, I feel it should go both ways, though I am not sure a lot of men would go ahead and call, but I hope they would if it were necessary in that particular situation.
Best of luck

Of course he should call the police. It doesn't make him a wuss at all, I mean its a very horrible situation that needs to be taken care of. She's a crazy thing and needs to be controlled to see if she will learn anything.

domestic dispute?? work it out between you... if not, call the police.. pressing charges is the next step after calling the police and that's when it gets serious.. with court dates, attorney fees.. etc. You must be willing to see it through!!

I would broke his nose and not only this if he proves to be unfaithfull to me.
and if he cannot handle the situation by his own that yes, he may call the cops, but this will only reveal the fear he's got inside.
one person is free to do whatever he pleases, this does not mean that will make the good choice always...
