Well, whether a topic is boring or interesting really depends on you. Here are some topics that I would consider:
1) the number phi and it's supposed role in visual art;
2) Le Corbusier's architecture;
3) musical instruments of the renaissance;
4) the evolution of the toilet.
Personally, I think 4) is the best. If you can do it seriously, without cracking a smile, it'll be hilarious.
Use lots of visuals!

Why kids shouldn't start smoking OR why it is hard to quit smoking once you start.
Why our produce isn't as healthy as it used to be (Hint: Look up green harvesting and depleted soils). You can get some great data that shows declines in specific nutrients in produce compared to many years ago.
The importance of drinking lots of water...why it is important to the body for good health.
Why kids your age will live much longer than today's adults.
How much money a kid your age would have at retirement if they saved $1 (or whatever amount) every week from that day forward. Don't forget to take into account interest in a bank savings account or investing it in a conservative fund once it gets to a sizable amount.
Interview a grandparent or someone REALLY old but with a good memory. Ask them to tell you about life when they were your age. Talk about that.
Good luck.

Is this for a speech class? Or english class or science or what? If you can give us that info, it would help alot. This is kind of a very broad question. Thing about any unique interests you have. I love to tap dance, and I've given a presentation on that before in Speech class. I'm also a twin, so I've done that. My friend breeds and raises Alpaca's (sorta a cross between llama's and sheep), and they make tons of money doing that, and it's very unique. Good luck!

I did my essay in college on euthanasia. You know the story about Dr. Kevorkian. You just have to decide if you are for or against what he was doing. I was for most everything that he did other than video tape the people as they were dying. Read a few articles on it and see where you stand. I believe that he is still alive so you could even attempt to write him and see if you get a response. That could boost your grade.
