Just because people still talk about Jesus doesnt mean anything, People still talk about past events, past figures older than jesus. People devote their entire lives to the study of the fossils of creatures long gone. There are people studying the ancient cultures and civilisations. Also your making the assumption that he effects me today. He effects me in much the same way as other religious figures would.

If it was just left up to his message, we might not still be talking about him. But Constantine is responsible for making it okay to be a Christian, and therefore allowing it to thrive. Once churches were established and the cash was rolling in, it was a pretty much a done deal that his name would thrive.

The Lord puts the idea of religion (that there is a God, and that God is like a father that you can appeal to) in man's head. It is the only logical explanation.

"This only One and very Self is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent. This also every Christian acknowledges from his doctrine and every gentile from his religion. In consequence, wherever he is, a man thinks that God is there and that he prays to God at hand; thinking and praying so, men cannot but think that God is everywhere, that is, omnipresent [in all places at all times]; likewise omniscient [all knowing] and omnipotent [all powerful]. Everyone praying to God, therefore, implores Him from the heart to lead him because He can lead him; thus he acknowledges the divine omnipresence, omniscience and omnipotence, doing so in turning his face to the Lord; thereupon the truth flows in from the Lord" (Divine Providence n. 157).

because of my personal Religious Belief System which was developed over the years. this Belief System was influenced by others who believe in similar Belief Systems because of the influence our Culture and Society has had on them. you can tell the religion by the society and also the society by the religion. each has an influence upon the other and different Cultures and Societies may develop similar Belief Systems or different Belief Systems depending upon what their Culture and Society requirements and needs are.

Because people use his name to justify some of the worst behavior one can imagine. Some of the things people say and do in the name of Jesus would have them locked up in an insane asylum if it were under any other name.

Love Him.

Why? Because when I walk away from Jesus and God, my life is in turmoil.

When I walk with Jesus and God, my life improves. My attitude improves. I feel more complete.

I disagree. My life is not impacted by the actual person that was Jesus, but rather what people believe about him and what certain texts declare him to be. Jesus himself was unimportant, but his "legacy" is hyped over today.

Because HE is the reason why we're here. We Love our parents because they gave birth to us, even if they gave us up to adoption, we have that need to seek them out. Jesus, on realizing we were destined for extinction, decided to sacrifice his own life that we may be here (however long).

He is my Friend who sticks closer than a brother.
He is my Savior who while I was in sin loved me enough to lay down His Life for me.
He is my LORD who gives meaning to life.
He is, GLORY TO GOD , my King who is coming soon !
