Antonov An-225 Mriya (meaning "Dream")
Capable of transporting oversized objects externally, the An-225 was designed mainly to transport the Russian space shuttle "Buran" and its components from a service area to a launch site
the An-225 is longer, has no rear ramp/door assembly, and incorporates a 32-wheel landing gear system (two nose and fourteen main wheel bogies, seven per side, each with two wheels). The Mriya is not a military aircraft, however, it packs a great potential for military use as a super-heavy transport, it is capable of airlifting cargos that no other aircraft in the world is capable of.

As of this posting, only one An-225 has been built

Probably the Russian made Antonov An-225 which is the worlds largest operational transport aircraft. Which means that it is still going through the certification process. The Russian made Antonov An 124 is the worlds largest mass - produced transport aircraft.

Everyone is wrong as usual with this question,

The largest transport aircraft in terms of size and cargo volume is the Beluga (also known as the A300-600ST Super Transporter)
It was developed to carry complete sections of Airbus aircraft from different production sites around Europe to the final assembly lines in Toulouse or Hamburg.

Its main-deck cargo volume is greater than the C5 Galaxy, the An-124 or the C-17 airlifters.

It is not the heaviest, but certainly the largest in terms of capacity

Russia to Display World's Biggest Plane at France Air Show
Russia said Monday that it will display a modernized transport plane An-225 Mria, the world's biggest plane, at the coming international air show in the French city of Le Bourget.

The aircraft is under production at Russia's Antonov scientific and technical center and will be put into use in July or August. The modernization cost is estimated at 20 million U.S. dollars, the center's deputy chief designer Valentin Bogaichuk told the press here.

The An-225 is designed to meet the international requirements for deliveries of super-weighty cargoes. Mria will have new engines, a reinforced body and up-to-date navigation equipment, he said.

The Antonov Company has already received applications from several European countries for transportation of heavy cargoes.

On the Russian-Ukrainian cooperation in aircraft building, Bogaichuk said the Russian aviation companies account for 60 percent of the quotas in the production of Ukrainian planes.

During the joint development of big transport aircraft, Russia supplies aluminum, components, electronic equipment and other high- tech products to Ukraine, he said.

As far as jet engine aircraft go, a Soviet plane makes that claim, larger than the US C5A.

I beleive that the largest Turbo-Prop planes are the SB-3, part of
Belfast Heavy Lift inventory. Used to have three, inventory may be less, old planes.
